Substitute Teacher Requirements:

  2. Criminal background check
  3. 3 professional references
  4. Official associate or bachelor’s degree transcripts
  5. Completed Tuberculosis screening (upon hire)
  6. Completed new hire paperwork
  7. Substitute teacher license must be applied for upon hire if not already certified

Substitute Teacher Hourly Pay Schedule
Daily assignment $22.27/hour
Long-term assignment (10 or more days) $28.57/hour

Substitute Special Education Professional (ESP) Requirements:

  1. Completed application on 
  2. Criminal background check
  3. 3 professional references
  4. Official associate transcripts or 48 completed college credits
    • If applicant does not have a degree or enough credits the district requires proof of passing the WorkKeys test administered through Gateway Technical College, 
  5. Completed Tuberculosis screening (upon hire)
  6. Completed new hire paperwork

Substitute Special Education Professional (ESP) Pay Schedule
Daily assignment $15.44/hour
Long-term assignment (10 or more days) $17.50/hour

Substitute New Hire Materials
